Adopting a coral directly supports the growth and restoration of coral reefs by nurturing a baby coral fragment until it's ready to enrich the ocean's biodiversity.
Donating, however, provides broader support for our mission, including research, technology, and the vital work of our coral Gardeners.
Coral Gardeners is a reef-restoration movement using innovative coral farming and transplantation. Since 2017, our team has been restoring reefs in French Polynesia, Fiji and Thailand. By adopting a baby coral, you directly fund this work and receive a certificate, photo and GPS location.

The reef does more than add beauty to our planet. It’s a living system that shelters a quarter of all marine life, protects coastlines, and connects us all to a healthy ocean, even if you live in the city. But warming seas are changing things fast. Without action, up to 90% of coral reefs could disappear by 2050. Adopting a coral helps us grow them back.
Who we are
Coral Gardeners is a movement of scientists, artists, engineers and island kids working to grow the world back to life, one coral at a time.
Your adoption helps us collect a fragment from a resilient wild coral and grow it in our nurseries into a strong, healthy baby coral.
After about a year, we outplant your coral onto a damaged reef, where it helps rebuild the habitat and bring marine life back.
The ocean produces roughly half the oxygen we breathe. Protecting reefs helps protect the air we rely on.

I remember visiting a coral reef when I was young and then going back years later to find it depleted and bleached out, it was incredibly depressing. I love the ocean, surfing, spending time at the beach and snorkeling... and I can't believe while working in a busy city I can build a legacy by adopting coral! Everyday I'm just happy that I can contribute in this way and be a part of the difference you're making!
