WHY EDUCATION?

Coral reefs cannot be saved from the outside. They need local communities who know them, love them, and are equipped to protect them.

Coral Gardeners embeds reef restoration directly into schools and communities in French Polynesia and beyond - giving students hands-on experience in coral nurseries, reef monitoring and outplanting, with the long-term goal of creating a generation of locally-led reef stewards and professional Coral Gardeners.

CORAL GARDENERS

Born in 2017 in Mo'orea, French Polynesia, Coral Gardeners is a nonprofit dedicated to reviving coral reefs by combining science, education and community.

To date, we have planted over 200,000 corals and educated 15,000+ people - including 3,500+ children.

ABOUT TEAM DYNAMIC

Charlie and Aidan are two ocean educators who met aboard a sail training vessel and discovered a shared passion for teaching and ocean conservation. In December 2028, they will row the Atlantic — one of the toughest endurance challenges on the planet — to raise awareness and funding for coral reef education.
